The show featuring this painting opens on Aug. 11th at the Distinction gallery. I decided to post it early because the image has already been used on their public flyer anyway. The other 6 painting will have to wait, however...

Anyways.

At the time I came up with this image I was suffering from migraines, which (for anyone who's had a migraine knows) causes you search for as much darkness possible. In some manner this reminded me how people tend to thrive of their own agony and self pity. Confiding in their personal darkness.
Though that subject matter exists for me in this painting, I created it to be more about a feeling, rather than a physical topic. A feeling of beauty in saddness.

this is absolutely stunning. i think you have really achieved the feeling your going for. especially like the slight glowing behind, it really makes the image pop out at you! Just perfect. cant wait to see the other images, good luck with the show! :) Ursula x

quite a fantastic piece, I've actually seen something similar to this in a dream I once had. I always thought it was neat, and you've done a lovely job on this, I'm adding it to my favourites.

i used to have bad migranes. i was working outside a lot. he told me to get a good pair of polarized sunglasses and stop doing soo many drugs. im kidding about the drugs.

When I saw this as one of the choices for your ISM cover I hoped you'd be posting it soon. The blue lighting is flawless, and the way it envelops the rich flesh tones conveys emotions with colour in a way I could only dream of achieving. She seems to be inhaling deeply and breathily in desperation. What an incredible work. :+fav:

never had a migraine, but have had arthritis in a knee for almost 30 years so no stranger to pain...I love that you've made visible a feeling (beuatiful image)...but then I've always felt that all feeling is energy, & energy can be channeled...& yeah...we can all get wrapped up in our pain...
