Another face study for a painting in the works. I've called this one "Blue" after the song by A Perfect Circle, since I was listening to it quite a lot while painting this ^__^
Very nice coloring. With the cool blues, and the great shading, she seems to have such an elegance to her. She seems somewhat like a spirit of sorts.
I agree with the other person, in saying that the eye stands out the most. So realistic, and yet it's perhaps more perfect than one would find in real life.

I've gotten to the point where I don't use reference very much at all (at least with faces), but I've developed a habit of them taking after my own face, so yes and no - haha
I learned how to draw faces from my own, so it seems to have stuck.
Well, I meant spirit in the more general sense; not so much as ghost, but more as symbolic of something. If she were red or green she'd still be a bit 'spiritual', but more like nature/envy and anger/passion, something like that. But yeah, the blue does make her look a bit 'ghostly', but I was thinking more of water, air, something along those lines.
And very nice hair. I forgot to mention that in the first comment.

Haha, I have a feeling Maynard wouldn't give a damn, but it would certainly be a real compliment if he did like it. That band has just an awesome mood to them; every song sounds outer worldly.

I envy you for being able to paint, haha, I'm horrible at that sort of thing. But, again, beautiful. Wonderful job.

Money ressembles fat... there is plenty of it, but always in the wrong places.
