I see this painting as a sort of sequel to my recent work "ghosts", though not as a future projection, but a present one.
"Ghosts" is the painting with the girl in the bath tub, who has fish swimming around her -- I imagine this sequence as being what she's envisioning with her eyes closed, a sort of dream state or limbo.
Titled inspired by "Speak to me (Breathe)", by Pink Floyd
as a dream, well...I remember a quote from somewhere that in a dream world, all is logic...which I interpret to mean whatever the sequence, in the dream it makes sense. The bathtub could be the gateway to this dream, or vice versa. Anyway, it's the sort of dream that I'd look forward to, beautiful & strange. My dreams, when I remember them, are plebeian & weird.

The pink and blue work very well together, and I love the look on her face. The fish closest to her (bottom left) looks like it's trying to snuggle in for a hug, but she is focusing on the other fish who seem to be having more fun.
Beautiful Yes I can see this as being the vision the girl sees while in the bathtub, I love that concept. Ghosts is one of my faves actually, and this one is up there too. Beautiful work Oh and I love that P.Floyd song too

I love your fishes. You know, I think told you I was about to paint koi fishes for a photo-montage: well, I've finally went for something different on my latest photo-session but I'll keep it in mind
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
