Indifference and dis-interest, even when she has the thorns on her head. Not sure why I have such an obsession with the crown of thorns, but there\'s just seems to be so much else, outside of Catholicism, that it can be applied to ~

I love the crown of thorns thing.
I tend to like religious symbolism in non-religious contexts. I dunno, I'm weird that way.

Crown of thorns-the martyrs hat...and martydom can be applied to so much..."This is your mother. How come you never call? I was in labor for a week before you were delivered & you can't even pick up the phone?" Blow yourself up for 78 virgins...there's a deal. I, I, felt such a connection with the voters of New Hampshire, I can't believe I didn't win. And Obama is a pot smiking Muslim with a 666 birthmark...

...whatever

more importantly, outside of any christian religion, not only catholicism.

Weird is unique -Me.
I think its alright to apply it in relation to Christ (gnarly sacrifice) or not (intense suffering or just a headache). I can dig both without any hater-aid.
one could even look at it as a response to methods of beauty, how we might link that to torture of ourselves and of other humans/creatures/life..the lengths to which we are willing to go, and our overall apathy towards the means, provided the ends are acceptably beautiful.
How long do you spend, as an average, on a typical peice?

(To be exact - time spent concieving and painting; exclude drying time, waiting to be finished time, etc.)

That was my first thought about this picture, just as I saw the thumbnail :)
