More school projects... As you may have noticed, my rendering varies quite a lot with my homework - not because I plan on abandoning my personal style, I just feel it's important for me to experiment when I can ^__^
sadly...one of the things my professors never really explained was how much experimentation we could get away with...as a result, we lived in fear of the almighty grade & did what we thought would yield good grades, not results down the road. hell ya...experiment. Style is a beautiful thing & a cage. I never would have guessed this was your work, not your "style" at all. Meanwhile, you have...um...artists like Leroy Neiman, Kincaid (I just threw up a little), Wesselmann, & Katz ...all with instantly recognizable styles...& that's the problem...same shit (George Carlin "shit") over & over again...Some artists manage to mature, move into something different that still is unmistakeably theirs...like Roger Dean, from very linear, watercolor/airbrushy stuff to very painterly, color/experimental stuff...with his new style you were pretty sure it was him...ah...yup...it is. This is a style that seems much darker & depressing than your usual approach, which even when it's dark, there's always been a hint of humor & sensuality (via the full lips your subjects have)...anyway...this is very different & cool...thanks for sharing your less travelled, experimental roads.
